I’ll reiterate my hatred for giant hood scoops on imprezas. that looks dumb

I can hear the sound of it tearing its own fenders to shreds from here

Also, the center diff on those is open, isn't it? Effective!

The hood scoop looks like it is trying to see how much mud in can ingest.

it’s less hood scoop and more periscope

That scoop would look much better on the roof, a la rally style. At leaat then it would be different.

that would be awesome! ( i gotta see over traffic somehow...)

You’ve just reminded me, I saw a lowered Defender yesterday on low profile tyres. Ew.

Those are some mad skillz. It looks like a crooked hat, which probably matches the driver.

if it’s never going offroad, or if it has one fo those Brabus million horsepower billion dollar leather upgrades, I can see it.

Has anyone done a cowl hood on an impreza?

Subarus make decent off-road vehicles as long as you keep your expectations in check. It isn’t going where a Jeep would go, but it will go 80% of the places a Jeep would go and do it in greater comfort - both in the wilderness and on the ride home.

Yeah, it’s about an Outback, but they have a lot of the same DNA as the Impreza.

The scoop isn’t for intake air, it is to direct air over the intercooler and turbo for cooling. The intake is at the front of the hood. I can’t imagine you would get nearly as much air from cowl induction as you do through the scoop.
